Sustainability
Built to last, sourced responsibly.
The most sustainable piece of furniture is the one that does not need replacing. We supply durable, fit-for-purpose furniture for homes, workplaces and public programs, and we hold our supply chain to clear standards on labour, safety and ethics. We only report what we can evidence, and we will add to this page as our environmental programs are independently verified.
We aim to achieve this through the pursuit of the following fundamental principles:
- — A regenerative approach where we seek to manage our own footprint but also make a positive contribution to the environment and society.
- — A circular economy approach where we consider the complete life cycle of a product at every stage and how its value can endure for a long as possible.
- — Working with local and like-minded people and organisations who share our values and commitment to a sustainable future.
- — Advocating in our sector and for the role of design in sustainable development by collaborating and sharing expertise.

Responsible sourcing
Furniture and appliances are made in global supply chains where labour risk is real. We manage it with direct manufacturer relationships, independent audits and clear accountability.
Sedex member
HEQS Furniture is an active member of Sedex, the global platform for sharing responsible-sourcing data on labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics.
Independently audited factories
Supplier factories are audited by independent third parties against SMETA 4-Pillar — labour standards, health and safety, environment and business ethics.
Direct manufacturers
We buy direct from known manufacturers rather than through brokers or unknown intermediaries, and keep a register of Tier One suppliers for every product category.
Packaging and waste
Our installers remove all packaging and rubbish from site at handover, so nothing is left for the household or facility to dispose of.
