Social Value
Every government contract should leave a community better off
HEQS Furniture is the government and community contracts arm of HEQS Group. Our buyers are housing agencies, Defence, councils and the organisations they fund. We treat the social outcome as part of the delivery, not a slide in the tender.
Promise 1
The social value we create
Aboriginal community organisations
We supply Aboriginal community-controlled housing, health and homelessness organisations with furniture and appliances for their clients. We are working to bring Aboriginal suppliers and workers into how we deliver, and will publish our progress here.
- Supplier to Aboriginal community-controlled housing and health organisations
Veteran and Defence-family employment
HEQS is recognised by the Department of Veterans' Affairs as a Veteran Employment Supporter. We prioritise veterans and Defence partners when we hire, and support veterans' organisations furnishing homes for families in transition.
- Veteran Employment Commitment — Department of Veterans' Affairs
- Veterans and Defence partners prioritised in recruitment
Social Value Commitment and Report
Every tender response includes a one-page Social Value Commitment. Every completed contract gets a Social Value Report, prepared by your account manager and aligned to your framework — for example the Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy, Victoria's Social Procurement Framework or the NSW Aboriginal Procurement Policy.
| Measure | Committed at tender | Reported at handover |
|---|---|---|

Environmental and ESG value
Ethical and sustainable sourcing
We hold our supply chain to the same standard our government clients are held to. Our Modern Slavery Policy and Grievance and Human Rights Complaints Procedure apply to every supplier, and our supplier factories are independently audited.

- Supplier factory SMETA 4-Pillar audit completed September 2026; corrective actions being closed with the auditor
Packaging and waste

Promise 3
How we deliver it
A dedicated account manager
Every contract has one named account manager from quote to handover. You deal with the same person for ordering, scheduling, variations and invoices, with escalation straight to our Contracts Manager.
One coordinated schedule
Sourcing, warehousing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, delivery, assembly and handover run on one schedule. Your team doesn't coordinate separate suppliers around a move-in date.
Quality, environmental and safety management
HEQS Furniture Pty Ltd is completing integrated certification to ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (workplace health and safety). The Stage 2 certification audit is scheduled for November 2026. Certificates will be published here once issued.

Homes for people leaving homelessness and crisis
Most of our work is furnishing homes for people moving out of homelessness, family and domestic violence, or resettlement. We work for state housing agencies and the community organisations that support those tenants, so a secured tenancy becomes a liveable home on move-in day.
